The 59-year-old man was last seen early Saturday and had been reported missing on Sunday.
The body of a 59-year-old man who was last seen early Saturday was found Tuesday at Spider Lake, 16 kilometres west of Qualicum Beach, Oceanside RCMP say.
Search-and-rescue volunteers from various Island groups, led by Arrowsmith Search and Rescue, began looking for the man on Sunday when his disappearance was reported, said Oceanside RCMP Sgt. Shane Worth.
His body was located in a wooded area, not far from where he went missing.
Worth said there is nothing suspicious about the death.
Next of kin has been notified and is being helped by RCMP Victim Services, he said.
