A motorist was airlifted to hospital in serious condition Thursday afternoon after a vehicle left the road and hit a tree on Hirst Avenue in Parksville.
Oceanside RCMP said the incident happened about 1:30 p.m. The driver was the lone occupant in the vehicle.
No criminality or impairment is suspected, police said, adding investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
