A man in his 20s suffered minor injuries in the crash in a parking lot
Police say a golf cart was being driven “recklessly” in a parking lot near Oak Bay High School before it flipped late Sunday afternoon.
A man in his 20s suffered minor injuries in the crash.
He was charged with driving without consideration under the Motor Vehicle Act, which defines a parking lot as a “highway.”
The golf cart was licensed and insured, police said.
They said low-speed vehicles such as golf carts have been approved for use in Oak Bay and Victoria.
Oak Bay’s bylaws say the vehicles can operate on roads in the municipality with speed limits of no more than 50 km/h.
