A large police presence was deployed on Crawford Road, including the Special Victims Unit and a police dog
A portion of a road in Campbell River was closed off Sunday night as RCMP responded to a home where a man was experiencing a “significant mental-health crisis,” police say.
Police were told about 6 p.m. that the 30-year-old’s behaviour had become “dangerous and threatening.”
A large police presence was deployed on Crawford Road, including the Special Victims Unit and a police dog.
In the end, the man followed police directions and was taken into custody without incident.
“The Campbell River RCMP are very thankful that this incident concluded peacefully,” said Const. Maury Tyre. “We are also very appreciative for the co-operation of everyone in the area during the heightened police presence.”
