An all-ages event honouring National Indigenous Peoples Day is set for Friday morning at Royal Roads University in Colwood. A main stage with live performances, field games, Indigenous artist and vendor market, canoe challenge and fry bread station are all part of the proceedings.
The event runs Friday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., but parking is very limited. Organizers are asking attendees to use public transit when possible, or walk/cycle to the event along the Galloping Goose Regional Trail. A shuttle service between campus parking lots and the event site will be available for the duration of the event.

Hobbyists with an affinity for everything from trading cards of the sport and non-sport varieties to vintage toys, games, and vinyl records are welcome Saturday at the all-ages VI Collectibles Show.
The buy/sell/trade format will bring vast amounts of Upper Deck, O-Pee-Chee, Topps, Leaf, Magic the Gathering, Pokémon, and Yu-Gi-Oh stock to the tables. It is the sixth and final monthly show of the season, according to organizers.

The grounds of the Victoria Association for Community Living in Cedar Hill will be home to dozens of classic Chryslers on Saturday for a community car show and fundraiser.
Community Living provides support services to children, youth and adults with intellectual disabilities and their families. The site at 3861 Cedar Hill Cross Rd. will be packed with action June 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., including live music by Dustin Childs and vehicles from members in the Walter P Chrysler Classic Car Club of Victoria.

Don’t be alarmed if you hear a palpable hum emanating from Westshore Town Centre on Saturday — that is the intended effect of Sweet Street 2025.
The candy-covered showcase for cookie, cupcake, cotton candy, and ice cream vendors will be held in the parking lot near Cineplex Odeon Westshore Cinemas. It has plenty to offer, from music and kids’ activities to a licensed area serving dessert-inspired cocktails, beer, and cider. But the star attraction is the sweet offerings from more than 40 vendors.
The event runs June 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., after which point its attendees will likely be found crashed out on their respective couches.

The Royal BC Museum is hosting a launch party Saturday for Celebrating Potlatches, the new children’s book by Prince Rupert author Samantha Beynon that honours Indigenous stories and traditions.
The event runs June 21 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and features a short presentation by the author, who will also be available to sign copies of her new book. There is also a booth from Strong Nations featuring children’s resources.
