There is no record of the black Hover-1 e-bike being stolen, so police are hoping the owner will come forward and identify it
Nanaimo RCMP are looking for the owner of an e-bike they recently seized on Nicol Street.
It began when officers patrolling in the area on June 19 saw a man they recognized with the e-bike as they drove past.
Concerned the bike did not belong to him, they turned their vehicle around and went back, only to find a different man riding the bike.
Police stopped to ask the second man about it and he said he had no idea whose it was — he was just taking it for a spin.
The black Hover-1 e-bike was seized and taken to the Nanaimo detachment, where it will be stored for 90 days.
There is no record of it being stolen, so police are hoping the owner will come forward and identify it.
Proof of purchase with a serial number will be required.
