Has the Jersey Shore officially landed in B.C.?

Photos circulating on social media appear to show MTV reality TV star Nicole (Snooki) Polizzi arriving at Kelowna International Airport.

On Tuesday, the Jersey Shore celebrityposted on TikTokthat she was on a flight from New Jersey landing in Canada. Fans immediately guessed that location of arrival was in B.C.’s Okanagan Valley.

Earlier this year, Paramount+ streaming service announced casting was open for the first Canadian version of the international MTV reality Shores franchise, with the working title set as Canada Shore.

Produced by Canada’s Insight Productions, filming was set to take place in summer 2025with a cast of 10 “fresh-faced, unapologetically wild Canadian singletons who embody the Shores spirit. Together, they’ll unite to make one big, imperfect family, ready to experience the most unforgettable, unfiltered summer of their lives.” Applications for the Canadian cast closed on April 30, according to the news release.

The Shores franchise premiered on Dec. 3, 2009, with the first season of Jersey Shore.

The program followed a group of people ages 19-26 partying hard on the highway to celebrity. They enjoyed top ratings along the way. The program is still the fifth most-popular program on MTV in 2025. It has spun off 18 franchises from South Beach, Florida, to Florence, Italy, Australia, the U.K. and France.

Early buzz around the Canadian spinoff set the odds in favour of the Okanagan to host the Canada Shore show, thanks to its nightlife, scenic setting, beaches and more.

A Kelowna forum on Reddit has also showcased posts featuring film crews spotted around the city, including at Kelowna’s BNAbrewing, a spot popular with visiting celebrities such as actor Nicolas Cage, who was filmed there in July 2018.

Insight Productions has helmed Canadian versions of other hit reality TV shows such as Big Brother, The Amazing Race and Top Chef.
