Victoria Pride Parade hits the street Sunday starting at 11 a.m.

The Johnson Street Bridge and several downtown streets will be closed Sunday for the Victoria Pride Parade, which is expected to draw up to 70,000 people downtown.

The Pride Parade begins at 11 a.m. from Government Street at Pandora Avenue.

More than 140 organizations are expected to be represented, ­including local businesses, non-profits, two provincial political parties and a number of media organizations.

The route follows Wharf Street and Government to the legislature. Floats will be dropped off behind the legislature while participants and community members continue on foot along Oswego Street to ­MacDonald Park in James Bay.

Portions of Fisgard Street, ­Pandora, Pembroke Street and Chatham Street are being used for float marshalling on Sunday and will be closed from 7 a.m. to noon. Rolling closures will take place along the parade route starting about 10:30 a.m.

Once the parade reaches Government at Humboldt Street, streets along the route to MacDonald Park will be fully closed to traffic. They include Government, Belleville, Menzies and Simcoe streets.

MacDonald Park will host ­Festival in the Park from noon until 6 p.m.

There will be a main stage as well as a kids’ stage with local LGBTQ artists and performers, as well as vendors and food options.

Festival entertainment starts at noon with drag shows, live music, dancing and various other performances.

The Kids’ Stage will feature arts and crafts, drag storytime, choreographed dancing and many inflatable attractions.
